Talsi and Ventspils to receive 107 thousand euros to address the consequences of heavy rainfall

More than 107 thousand euros are planned to be allocated to the municipalities of Talsi and Ventspils regions to remediate the damage caused by the July downpours. The funding originates from contingency funds and will assist with both infrastructure restoration and the payout of crisis allowances to residents. Ventspils region's share is 40 thousand euros, while Talsi will receive 67 thousand.
According to data from the VSIA "Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre" (LEGMC), July 20 was the wettest day of July 2026 in Latvia, with an average nationwide rainfall of 21.1 millimeters (mm).
