Students, Experts, and Decision-Makers to Meet at the Conference “Socrates”
Tomorrow (October 22), the conference “Socrates” will take place at the Academic Center of the University of Latvia. As SMG informed, the main organizer of the conference, Madara Balode, stated that the aim of the event is to promote open dialogue and the encounter of various experiences to seek answers to questions that are significant for youth and society.
“The main idea is to discuss important topics for graduates and students, both from the perspective of experts and to hear the thoughts of recognizable figures in society. Three topics will be discussed at the conference. The first will be the power of the student voice in decision-making, the second will address higher education, whether it is an investment or just a formal requirement, and the third will be the National Defense Service between studies and duty to the state.
There are certain things that we may not think about in our daily lives, but which shape our study experience or simply our choices. We want people to come and reflect on something they might not consider in their everyday lives.”
Thus said Madara Balode, the main organizer of the conference “Socrates.” The conference is open to students, graduates, university representatives, and anyone interested. Participation in the event is free of charge.
After the panel discussions, there will be an informal part of the conference, where attendees can continue conversations in a more relaxed atmosphere, get to know the participants, and build new contacts.
