On the night of November 5, crisis situation exercises organized by the State Police in cooperation with the State Joint Stock Company "Latvian Railways" and the train passenger carrier "Vivi" will take place at Riga Central Railway Station. The aim of these exercises is to strengthen the cooperation and readiness of the involved institutions to respond to crisis situations, the police informed the LETA agency.

The exercises will simulate a situation close to a real threat, during which the information exchange, distribution of responsibilities, and coordination of actions among the involved institutions will be tested.

Thus, the ability of the services to respond quickly, coherently, and effectively to possible threats will be trained to ensure the safety of the population.

During the exercises, increased movement and presence of operational service vehicles may be observed in the center of Riga and near the railway infrastructure. At the same time, restrictions on road and train traffic are not planned, and they will not affect passenger transport and train movement. The State Police urges residents to be understanding of the exercises taking place at night and not to be alarmed by the presence of operational services in the center of Riga.
