The Grand Prix, the top honour at the 2026 Latvian Architecture Award, has been awarded to the reconstruction of the Salaspils Cultural Centre. Architects Edijs Levins, Agnese Levina and Iveta Lūse created a project that impressed the international jury with its fresh approach to cultural spaces and rational use of resources. The Salaspils Cultural Centre stands out for its exposed structures made from natural materials and its harmonious architecture.

For the first time, the Architect of the Year distinction was also presented. It was awarded to Gatis Didrihsons, head of Didrihsons Architects, for his significant contribution to the development of the industry.

This year’s Latvian Architecture Silver Awards went to Konrāda Quarter in Cēsis, the Zuzeum multifunctional art centre and the reconstruction of the former parsonage in Kuldīga. These projects stand out for their aesthetics and sustainability.

The Inclusive Design distinction was also awarded at the ceremony to the creators of Zuzeum and the Salaspils Cultural Centre, while the New European Bauhaus distinction went to the Tandeems association for its library pavilion in Bolderāja.

The public also voted for their favourite project, with Konrāda Quarter in Cēsis winning in this category.

The Latvian Architecture Award is the country’s highest distinction in the field of architecture, recognising the most significant achievements in Latvian architecture. A total of 43 projects were submitted for this year’s award.
