The State Police (VP) in Riga, Jūrmala, and Pierīga has detained a group of Latvian and Lithuanian citizens who hid dozens of kilograms of drugs in the forests of the Riga region, the VP Public Relations Department informed the agency LETA.
On October 14, the police began an investigation into the illegal circulation of narcotic substances organized by a group.
By implementing extensive operational measures and special investigative actions, the police identified a total of eight individuals related to this crime. Police officers conducted ten searches - six searches were carried out at the residences of individuals, three in vehicles, and one in a detention facility. Forest areas were also searched.
As a result of the searches, approximately 36 kilograms of various drugs were found - amphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, hashish, Subutex tablets, Quetiapine Accord tablets, clonazepam tablets, and MDMA tablets - as well as 34 devices containing the psychoactive substance THC found in cannabis plants.
