Published: 26.10.2026

The NATO multinational brigade in Latvia will conduct the largest military exercises to date, "Resolute Reforger 2026," from Monday until November 8, with approximately 3,000 soldiers and 1,000 military vehicles participating, the brigade's headquarters informed the LETA agency.

Until November 2, brigade soldiers and military equipment will move via highways and railways from the military base "Ādaži" and the military base "Ceri" to the training locations in eastern Latvia. Training tasks will be carried out in the regions of Ogre, Jēkabpils, Aizkraukle, Daugavpils, Alūksne, Balvi, Gulbene, Madona, Rēzekne, and Augšdaugava, as well as in Rēzekne.

During the military exercises, brigade units will perform tasks related to force deployment, logistics, command, and communications, as well as enhance cooperation with the National Armed Forces. The aim of the exercises is to test the brigade's ability to move, supply, and coordinate units over long distances.

Brigade Commander Colonel David Brasārs emphasizes that the exercises will demonstrate the ability to deploy combat-ready forces over long distances, ensure their operation in field conditions, and maintain effective command, control, and communication throughout the duration of the exercises.

He reminds that, in participating in Latvia's defense, the brigade's success also depends on its ability to operate outside the military base territory, integrate with allies, and continue effective communication in a dispersed combat environment.

From November 4 to November 8, units will clean up the used training areas and return to military bases.
