Inviting Teachers to Participate in Educational Seminars on Financial Literacy
Starting this Thursday, October 22, the Bank of Latvia will launch a series of educational seminars for teachers titled 'Financial Literacy in Practice'. As SMG informed, the financial literacy specialist of the Bank of Latvia, Paula Elizabete Sirma, stated that the main goal is to support teachers in their daily teaching process.
'During this seminar series, teachers will be able to enhance their knowledge on various topics of financial literacy, and even more importantly, together with the teachers, we will create teaching materials, as financial literacy is the skill of managing money, and money is present everywhere, thus it is important to simply make the right, smarter decisions.
In total, there will be about 12 different topics – there will be discussions on financial planning, budgeting, savings, there will definitely also be topics on investments, pensions, loans, and also on security. Each seminar will be dedicated to a specific topic.'
This is what Paula Elizabete Sirma, the financial literacy specialist of the Bank of Latvia, stated.
Teachers from primary and secondary schools who teach social and civic subjects, as well as other educators who wish to include financial literacy topics in their teaching process or educational work, are invited to apply for the seminar series.
