Photo Orienteering “Safe Riga” Updates Support for Ukrainian Defenders
To support the women serving in the Ukrainian armed forces and simultaneously promote public understanding of civil defense and readiness for crisis situations, an event titled “Photo Orienteering: Safe Riga” will take place on Saturday, October 24, in Riga. More about the event's purpose and proceedings was shared by Antoņina Bļodone, the chairwoman of the association “Women for Defense SKUDRAS.”
“We will create five thematic checkpoints in Riga. At each point, participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with information related to civil defense in a practical and comprehensible way. We would like people to understand that civil defense is not only the responsibility of state and municipal institutions, but also the resilience of society itself, and thus we will provide the opportunity to learn more about this information. Anyone can register to participate. We are supported by Roadgames. Their application will feature this game.”
This was stated by Antoņina Bļodone, the chairwoman of the association “Women for Defense SKUDRAS.” The route will conclude at the Congress House square, where from 1:30 PM there will be workshops dedicated to safety, stands of operational services, family activities, and a stage program. Participation in the game is free.
Throughout the day, the “Zemliachky” stand will operate at the Congress House square, inviting support for the women serving in the Ukrainian army and donating necessary equipment for them. Visitors are encouraged to bring fabric pieces and participate in weaving camouflage nets.
