A wall painting with audio stories 'Bird Garden' has been created in Zasulauks

A wall painting with audio stories 'Bird Garden' has been created in Zasulauks, the Rīga municipality informed the LETA agency.

In the spring of 2025, fourth-year students from the Jānis Rozentāls Art School began to implement the wall painting 'Bird Garden' near the playground in Zasulauks, Kurpnieku Street 2. This year, the project has been supplemented with new paintings, as well as audio stories that introduce the characteristic living spaces and behaviors of the depicted birds.

The concept author of the wall painting idea is fourth-year student Kate Minkeviča, who supervised the project's implementation. 'In the design of the fence, I combined various stylized birds found in Latvia and their habitats to introduce children to the nature of Latvia. A color palette was chosen that would bring color to the playground on gray days,' explains Minkeviča.

Experts from the Latvian Ornithological Society have created descriptions of the depicted birds, which have been recorded in audio stories and will be available for reading in the future with the help of a QR code.
